Jones earns trip to Junior Worlds

Teenager Nick Jones will be one of two Bermuda representative at this summer?s Junior Worlds tournament after winning a 54-hole three-player play-off last week.

Son of professional Eardley Jones, Nick fired rounds of 86, 78 and 89 for a total of 253, seven shots better than the son of another local pro, Rawn Rabain jr, who carded 85, 86 and 89 for a 260 total.

Kenneth Leverock placed third on 275 after rounds of 98, 88 and 89.

The first round was played at Belmont Hills and the last two at Port Royal in windy conditions.

This summer?s Worlds will be played from July 11-14 at Torrey Pines in California.
