Tyco crew injured
Two crew members on Bermuda's Volvo Ocean Race entrant, Tyco, were injured in accidents over the weekend.
Guy Salter suffered an eye injury and David Endian damaged a knee as the yacht made its way to Cape Horn.
"He (Endian) took a good hit on the knee and already has a lot of fluid gathering there," said skipper Kevin Shoebridge.
"We think he might have fractured a knee-cap so his leg has been put in a splint."
The skipper said a decision was yet to be taken on whether Endian would have to be taken off Tyco before the end of the race in Rio.
Salter, a trained medic, was injured when a wave washed him along the deck.
Meanwhile, Illbruck, which had around 65 nautical miles to go to reach the Horn, gained another 13 miles on Amer Sports One in second place. Tyco, despite the medical emergencies, gained more ground on News Corp and was within a mile of her rival.
