Missed chances could cost Kyle Lightbourne a starting place for Macclesfield Town today.

Boss Dave Moss was working late to bring in a new striker in time for today's Division Three game at Lincoln City and depending on the match fitness of the unknown target either the Bermudian, Dick Tracey or both could find themselves on the bench.

The strike force's performance in the 2-1 defeat at home to Exeter last week left Moss fuming.

"We created six excellent chances and failed to take one," he said.

Top scorer Lee Glover is also back in contention after recovering from injury.

Meanwhile, Shaun Goater is tipped to retain his place in Manchester City's line-up when they take on local rivals Preston North End in Division One tomorrow.

After last weekend's awful performance at Wimbledon, a game which saw City go down 2-1, manager Kevin Keegan promised to bring back Paulo Wanchope even though the Costa Rican has only just returned from an exhausting Gold Cup trip to the US with his nation.

If Wanchope walks straight back in Darren Huckerby is likely to be the fall guy.

"We need to bounce back, Wimbledon was not good enough by our standards," said Keegan as he looked forward to tomorrow.
