Teenager Zindzi Swan is reported to have broken the Bermuda national record in the high jump at the weekend.

Swan was competing at the Bermuda Track and Field Association meet on Saturday when she cleared 1.73 metres.

Royal Gazette records show the mark she surpassed to have been 1.70 metres, a record held by Paula Burchall and achieved at the Bermuda School Sports Federation Championships on May 14, 1984.

Swan was a gold medallist at last year's CARIFTA Games in Barbados.
