East End hotel plan collapses

Plans by a Malaysian company to redevelop the former Club Med resort in St. George's have effectively collapsed, The Royal Gazette can reveal.
Government has begun talking to other developers after the latest proposals from Kuala Lumpur-based Aman Capital failed to meet crucial conditions laid down for the site.
Tourism Minister David Allen said Aman Capital's plans did not include demolition of the hotel - which Government had specified - and that they in fact intended to raise the height of the building.
And the developers wanted to use up other pieces of open space to build residential units.
