Breaking News: Three years prison for assault

A 25-year-old man convicted of beating and robbing a man in a group attack was this morning sentenced to three years in prison.

Jahkiel Samuels, of Loyal Pass, had been found guilty in March of robbery using force and assault causing bodily harm following a group attack on Tareek Somner, outside Bailey’s Bay Cricket Club.

Senior Magistrate Archibald Warner sentenced Samuels to three years imprisonment for the robbery charge, and two years imprisonment for assault. Both sentences were ordered to run concurrently.
