A man charged with unlawful wounding claimed that his ?evil twin? had done it.

In Magistrates? Court yesterday it was revealed that Jeremiah Burrows, 32 of Union Street, Pembroke struck Sinclair Fox with a blue metal pipe on Court Street after he claimed Mr. Fox owed his father money.

When Mr. Fox fell to the ground Burrows continued to hit the man.

Police arrived at the scene and found Burrows in a nearby shop. They noticed the man had fresh blood on his hand and T-shirt.

Burrows pleaded guilty to the charge in court yesterday.

He told the Police he did not remember what had happened and said he had been drinking Black Sambuca liqueur.

Burrows said he was ?a fairly nice guy? before adding: ?It must have been my evil twin.?

Burrow said he became a different person after drinking alcohol and told Acting Magistrate Tyrone Chin that he needed immediate help.

He said that he wished Mr. Fox had appeared in court so he could apologise to him.

Mr. Chin sentenced the man to six months in prison and instructed that he seek substance abuse treatment.
