Residents are being urged to rush in today as nominations close for the annual search for the Island's best tourism ambassadors.

The BELCO Visitor Industry Partnership (VIP) Excellence award deadline ends today and organisers say they are hoping for a surge of last minute entries.

Residents can nominate the person they think has gone the extra mile to give a visitor an a special experience in Bermuda.

VIP executive director Stacey Evans said yesterday: "As of yesterday, just over 150 forms had been received by mail or fax.

"Normally the majority of nominations arrive on the doorstep of the VIP office just before 5 p.m. on deadline day, so it is generally a madhouse around here."
