The cool weather has brought some unusual visitors to the Island.

Among them are Snow Geese, Snow Buntings, American Robins ... and the Tundra Swan, the fourth time the bird has ever been seen here.

Andrew Dobson, the vice president of the Bermuda Audubon Society, said the influx of uncommon birds on the Island was a result of the cold weather experienced in parts of North America. He said a flock of six Snow Geese was seen at Devonshire Marsh and American Robins have been spotted throughout the Island.

Snow Buntings have been seen at both ends of the Island while a small migrant of sparrow species was discovered at Pembroke Marsh. This is the first time the LeConte's Sparrow has been seen in Bermuda.

The Tundra Swan was also spotted this week at Spittal Pond.
