Police refuse to comment on shooting incident

Police yesterday refused to divulge any information on developments in the case of a shooting in the Summit Drive area of Hamilton parish.

Reports into The Royal Gazette yesterday morning were that a suspect was arrested by Police on Monday afternoon. According to the report, Police stormed into an East End home breaking down the door and taking the male suspect into custody. Police, we were told, made the man change his clothes taking the garments he was wearing as evidence.

According to the unconfirmed report, Police also confiscated the man's vehicle.

Police Media spokesperson Dwayne Caines last night flatly refused any comment. He was adamant not to even confirm or deny if anyone has been arrested or whether anyone has been brought in for questioning.

On Monday Police reported that gunshots were heard in the area early on Sunday morning and said they are pursuing a "specific line of inquiry".

Anyone with information regarding the incident is asked to contact Sgt. Author Glassford at 299-4492 or the confidential Crimestoppers hotline at 1800-623-8477.
