23-year-old charged with two sex assaults

A St. George's man has been charged with committing two separate sexual assaults on the same day against different people.

The 23-year-old, who cannot be named for legal reasons, pleaded not guilty to the offences when he appeared at Magistrates' Court on Monday. Senior Magistrate Archibald Warner adjourned the matter to January 15 and released the defendant on $5,000 bail.

Illegal parking warning issued

The Police Service has issued a warning to motorists about illegal parking.

Police say motorists have been parking their cars in bus lay-bys, on sidewalks and on double yellow lines. Any vehicle found parked in an illegal area will be ticketed.

Mount Hill home burgled

Police are investigating a reported burglary at a Mount Hill, Pembroke residence.

The complainant told police that sometime between 8.15 a.m. and 5 p.m. on Monday, October 17, someone broke into her home and stole $1,300 cash. Inquiries into the incident continue.
