BA awarded a travel ?Oscar?
British Airways has been awarded with a travel 'Oscar' at an awards ceremony in the Caribbean.
The airline, which earlier this year expanded to a daily seven-day-a-week service between Bermuda and London during the summer, was named as the World's Leading Airline at the World Travel Awards gala held in Turks and Caicos.
And the OneWorld airline alliance, which includes BA and another Bermuda carrier, American Airlines, was named the world's best airline alliance at the same ceremony.
"It is an honour for British Airways to have been chosen at the World Travel Awards and I would like to thank the many travel professionals who voted for us," said Robin Hayes, BA's executive vice-president for the Americas.
"There are many new and exciting developments on the horizon at British Airways, such as a brand new business-class product, improved in-flight entertainment and our move in 2008 to the new Terminal 5 at London Heathrow Airport."
