Motorist, 30, accused of driving into Policeman appears in court

A 30-year-old motorist accused of driving into a Policeman and carrying him on the hood of his car appeared at Magistrates? Court yesterday.

Sharif Boyd Taylor, of Aubrey Road, Hamilton Parish, did not enter a plea to four charges relating to the incident last Thursday night.

He is accused of unlawfully, intending to do grievous bodily harm to Peter Stableford; using offensive words; driving along North Shore Road while impaired by alcohol or drugs; and, failing to give a breath sample.

Senior Magistrate Archibald Warner adjourned the case until October 23 and granted Taylor bail in the sum of $5,000 with one surety for the same amount.
