Caricom (The Caribbean Community and Common Market) will hold an emergency meeting of Heads of Governments next week to discuss the economic fallout from the September 11 attacks on the United States.

The session to be held in Nassau, the Bahamas, will take place October 11 and will be preceded by a meeting October 10 of Ministers responsible for aviation, Tourism and security.

The emergency session talks will focus on finance, security and tourism.

It is not known whether Bermuda has been invited to the talks. Government is seeking associate membership in the organisation.

Premier Jennifer Smith is expected back on the Island this week after taking part in the Overseas Territories Council Meeting and the UK Labour Party Conference in England.
