Firearms court case adjourned

A trial involving a Devonshire man accused of possessing a semi-automatic pistol has been adjourned until the start of next week.

Puisne Judge Carlisle Greaves told the jury in the Jason Devon Dill case about the adjournment yesterday morning.

No evidence was heard in front of the jury yesterday in a morning dominated by legal arguments.

Dill, of Frog Lane, Devonshire, is accused of possessing a Talon 9mm semi-automatic pistol without a licence, on April 22 last year. He is also charged with carrying six live rounds of ammunition without a licence, serious assault against Det. Con. Christopher Sabean and violently resisting arrest.

The 21-year-old denies all four charges.

The trial is due to resume on Monday.
