Bermuda's intelligence committee, which met yesterday, is satisfied with the intelligence information it is receiving from Britain about the current US terrorist crisis, according to Government Information Services.

The Bermuda Intelligence Analysis Committee held a one and a quarter hour meeting at Cabinet Office yesterday.

It was attended by Deputy Governor Tim Gurney, Premier Jennifer Smith, Attorney General Dame Lois Browne Evans, Bermuda Regiment Lt. Col. David Gibbons, Police Commissioner Jonathan Smith, Solicitor General Wilhelm Bourne, Ron Ross of Marine and Ports, Home Affairs Minister Paula Cox, and Ian McIntyre of the Civil Aviation Department.

A GIS statement issued after the meeting said: "There was an opportunity for all the agencies involved in the local response to the events in the US last week to get together to exchange information.

"It was an opportunity for those agencies to give the Governor and the Premier some idea of whether they were getting all they needed from outside Bermuda to do their job properly - in the sense of intelligence information - and in a broad sense they were.

He added: "The meeting went well and was a valuable opportunity for all concerned."
