This is the time to nominate those courageous residents who have risked their lives for others.

Bermuda Bravery Awards chairman Mark Selley said the committee is not a "watchdog" group, so it relies on the public to nominate heroes.

Entries should briefly detail the event in writing and list the people involved along with contact numbers, Mr. Selley said.

"The awards are presented for acts of bravery and lifesaving and they're given to people in the service of saving lives but civilians are awarded as well," he said.

The nomination forms should be mailed to 4 Keith Hall Road, Warwick WK 06 by September 26.

A 12-member panel will sort through the nominations and those selected will receive their cedar-framed awards at a Government House ceremony at the end of October.
