The Bermuda Fire Service have announced a list of safety regulations for burning horticultural waste in the wake of Hurricane Fabian.Spokesman Lt. Dana Lovell said the list was to safeguard the public from injury or extensive property damage.l Contact the Fire Service at 292-5555 ext. 230 or 231 to advise the Dispatch Centre that you intend to start burning, when you intend to finish and a contact number

lUse paper kindling to start the fire rather than gasoline, kerosene or any other flammable liquid

l Never leave a fire unattended

lHave fire control tools on hand like a garden hose, shovel and a rake

lBe aware of any sudden increases of wind, as it may cause the fire to burn out of control

lIf you feel the fire is out of control, do not delay a call for help

Also the Fire Service is willing to answer any questions on fire safety.
