Technician admits stealing subscriber unit
A former wireless installation technician admitted to stealing a subscriber unit from North Rock Ltd. when he appeared in Magistrates' Court. yesterday.
Eugene D. Watson, 23, of Fiddlewood Drive, Warwick, admitted to stealing a Breeze Access XL wireless subscriber unit and antenna valued at $1,500.
Crown counsel Shakira Dill told the court that the incident happened on December 22, 2003 and Watson lost his job because of it.
Magistrate Archie Warner asked Watson: "Do you realise what a conviction will do for your career?"
Watson replied: "Yes."
"Then if I were you I would say something ? but then you do not have to," said Mr. Warner.
Watson shook his head and did not say anything in his defence.
Mr. Warner ordered a social inquiry report and adjourned sentencing until September 30.
Bail was granted in the sum of $1,000.
