ADC Education award goes to music student

Prize pupil: Cherann Brangman's mother Mrs. Cynthia Brangman accepts the $2,000 Aide de Camp scholarship on her behalf from current ADC, Capt Robbie Spurling. Lance Corporal Cherann Brangman is the latest recipient of the Aide de Camp Education Award ? a scholarship fund established by the now 18 ADCs who have served Governors in Bermuda.

The fund provides financing to Bermuda Regiment soldiers furthering their education either at the Bermuda College or at a college overseas.

L/Cpl. Brangman is a member of the Bermuda Regiment Band and Corps of Drums and she has overcome many personal challenges since joining the band as a junior musician in 1994, said a Government press release.

She is in the third year of a Music Education degree at Alabama A&M University and is working towards a goal of being the first female Director of Music of the Bermuda Regiment Band, whilst simultaneously raising her five-year-old son.
