The House of Assembly will reconvene in October and Government has a full legislative programme in store for the year, Premier Alex Scott said yesterday.

He would not give an exact date for the first meeting of parliament since the July 24 election victory because he said some people had still to be notified, but he confirmed it was October.

Mr. Scott said Cabinet had already scheduled legislation for almost the year ahead, something that previous Progressive Labour Party administrations had not been able to do.

"Cabinet has already considered a full legislative agenda, which is the first time the Cabinet at this stage has had a full legislative agenda for the immediate year," he said. "We almost have a year's programme. These generally evolve, and whereas we are subject to additions, we are very much on top of the way forward." The legislative programme will not be rolled out until the Throne Speech he added.
