The Bermuda Red Cross has raised just under $5,000 in the first week of its West African Crisis Appeal.

Director, Ann Spencer-Arscott said yesterday that people were always looking out for those less fortunate than themselves and she was delighted with the response.

Since launching the appeal on Monday, the relief organisation has raised $4,944.05.
