An Antonov 124 landed yesterday evening with replacement parts for a Portuguese plane that made an emergency landing in Bermuda 11 days ago.
Airport Operations officer Thomas Dunstan said the plane was bringing an engine for the Avia Jet, which had run into trouble when it was en route from Mexico to Lisbon, on June 19 at 1.45 a.m.
Mr. Thomas said the cargo plane Antonov came in at about 5 p.m. and was expected to leave sometime tomorrow.
?It will be here for at least a day, because they will carry the other engine away,? he said. ?I think it takes four to six hours for the engine to be removed and replaced.?
