Senate is set for another short session today while next week?s session should be even shorter noted Upper Chamber President Alfred Oughton.

He believes the Prohibition of Gaming Machines Amendment should pass without fuss as it has the Opposition?s support.

The bill will outlaw gaming machines from tomorrow.

But Sen. Oughton doubted the planned debate on the Kurron report about the operation of Bermuda?s two hospitals would go ahead because of lack of availability of the full report.

He said Senators only had the summary report.

?It?s only brief synopsis. It doesn?t tell you very much. I don?t think we will be debating it.

?Even with the synopsis the last page which contains the conclusions is missing for some unknown reason. No one seems to know why.?

Sen. Oughton said it was up to the Health Ministry to release the full findings of the report.

Senators are likely to discuss Opposition Senator Kenny Bascome?s motion on the need for more support for inmates being released.

Sen. Oughton noted there were no first readings of legislation today meaning next week?s session would probably be even shorter than today?s session.

But he predicted more legislation would come through from the House of Assembly as Government scrambled to get its business done before Cup Match.
