Construction to begin on new bus terminal

Groundbreaking will take place tomorrow on the construction of the new Hamilton bus terminal.

A temporary bus shelter with a bus kiosk and interim ticket trailer has been set up near the City Hall parking lot.

Traffic will proceed through the area as usual on Thursday.

Transport Minister Dr. Ewart Brown is expected to reveal the details of traffic re-routing later this week.

Thief steals DVDs and player

A thief made away with four DVDs and a silver Apex DVD player in Warwick last week.

Police were called to a reported break-in at a Spring Hill residence at 7.15 p.m. lastWednesday. The resident said that sometime between 4.30 and 6.30 p.m. a thief had gained entry to the home. Inquiries are underway.

American Intl gets another storey

The Department of Planning has given in principle approval for the addition of an extra storey and two levels of underground parking at the new American International Co. Ltd. headquarters planned for Richmond Road.

In March, American International was granted permission to build a new six-storey office building behind its existing building.

The new construction will be linked to the existing structure with an atrium link. The company expects to break ground sometime during the summer.
