Denis Glasford has been appointed to the post of Airworthiness Surveyor, one of the few Bermudians to get the job.

He joined the Department of Civil Aviation in February, 1999 as an Airworthiness Surveyor Trainee and in May, 2003, successfully completed his training programme.

Mr. Glasford's duties will include travelling around the world inspecting aircraft on the Bermuda register and auditing organisations that maintain Bermuda registered aircraft.

The Bermuda Aircraft Register comprises around 150 aircraft and continues to expand.

Before joining the Department of Civil Aviation, Mr. Glasford worked at the Transport Control Department as an examiner and prior to that he was an aircraft technician at Aircraft Services Bermuda Ltd.
