Entertainer dies after airport collapse

Calypso entertainer Alan Lottimore collapsed while performing for passengers at Bermuda International Airport last Thursday afternoon.

Mr. Lottimore was taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital where he died shortly after.

Transport Minister Dr. Ewart Brown said: "The entire Airport community join me in expressing our sorrow.

"Mr. Lottimore's music was greatly appreciated by the Ministry of Transport and he will be missed by the thousands of passengers who saw and heard Mr. Lottimore as soon as they disembarked at the Airport."

Government MP Neletha Butterfield said that Mr. Lottimore was a drummer and a close friend of her father. She rose during the condolences session in the House of Assembly on Friday to pay tribute to the popular entertainer.

She asked that condolences be sent to his family.
