United Bermuda Party Senator Kenny Bascome is not quitting the upper chamber ? despite radio reports to the contrary.

VSB News had speculated Sen. Bascome (pictured), who has been in the post just seven months, had been disillusioned with life in both the Senate and on the Corporation of St. George's and was about to resign. Yesterday Sen. Bascome told : "I have no intentions of quitting either. I believe someone took some comments of mine out of context."

But Sen Bascome, 56, said he was angry about the lack of legislation coming to the Senate.

"I just believe for us to come here every week and be finished before 12 o'clock doesn't say much about Government's legislative agenda."

He said he believed there was a lot of negative behaviour in the community which Government was not addressing.
