First tropical storm of the season

Allison, the first tropical storm of the season, is not considered a threat to the Island at this time.

At last report, the storm was moving north from the Gulf of Mexico toward the United States.

The storm was producing gusts of 60 knots and maximum sustained winds of 50 knots.

Allison was expected to move inland, arriving in southern Texas around 3 a.m. today.

At 6 p.m. yesterday the storm was 1,612 nautical miles west of Bermuda.
