PLP fumes over Dunkley smoking jibe

Just four percent of PLP MPs are smokers, compared to about 30 percent of the Opposition, it emerged in the House on Friday night.
Tourism Minister Renee Webb made the observation after a story appeared on the Friday evening news with Michael Dunkley lambasting the PLP for being "hypocrites" over National Quit Smoking Day. Members of the Government should practise what they preach, he said, and quit smoking themselves.
However, as Ms Webb pointed out, of the 25 PLP MPs, only one is a smoker - four percent of the ruling party MPs.
The UBP, on the other hand, has 14 MPs, four of whom are smokers and one of whom is a social smoker - about 30 percent of the Opposition.
"That's your credibility going up in smoke," Ms Webb told Mr. Dunkley.
