Bermuda?s funny man Nadanja Bailey has won first place in an international comedy competition.

Mr. Bailey is best known locally for his ?Two Fools? series, but is now conquering territories outside Bermuda.

He won $6,500 in the comedy category of the Fashion Rock SummerFest ?05 on Monday night in Orlando, Florida.

The competition, which featured actors, models, singers, dancers and comedians took place at the Marriott Resort and Convention Center.

More than 2,000 participants competed and he had to perform in front of 4,500 people, he said.

?I received a plaque as a finalist and then I received another one that says Fashion Rock Comedy Winner,? he said.

Mr. Bailey went to the States to find an agent but his father Wendell ?Shine? Hayward found out about the competition and suggested that he enter.

?I wasn?t expecting to win,? Mr. Bailey said.

?I came here for an agent, but I had to go through the process of entering. I was really surprised when I won and when I came off stage I cried tears of joy for about 45 seconds.?
