Pollution, violence and over population are among the most pressing concerns of Bermudians according to an informal survey conducted by a local environmental agency.

The Eden Project solicited comments from the public on environmental issues at the annual Agricultural Show last month and found many of the same concerns were cited again and again.

More than 70 different issues were raised by residents including: trash, drug use, traffic and speeding, recycling, congestion, second-hand smoke animal abuse, dumping, pesticides, noise pollution, amphibian deformities and teen pregnancy.

Other respondents expressed fears that Bermuda's moral standards are depleting and that there is no justice in Bermuda.

The comments came from children as well as adults, Eden Project organisers said.

The Eden Project will hold its own environmental exposition between October 18 and 20 this year.
