Silver foil twist believed to be drugs

A man was arrested early on Saturday morning for possession of a controlled drug. Police approached a vehicle on North Shore Road in Devonshire and searched the two men in it.

One of the men had a silver foil twist containing brown powder which Police believed was a controlled substance. He is being held in custody.

Man tells Police 20 people attacked him

Twenty men attacked an individual on Dundonald Street on Saturday morning. Police arrived on Dundonald Street around 3 a.m. after receiving a call alerting them to a disturbance in the area.

By the time they arrived the incident was over but they continued to patrol the area. They found a man on Elliot Street who was bleeding from a head wound. He told Police 20 men had attacked him with their hands and stolen his gold chain. Other than that he was not willing to make any more statements or provide a description of his attackers. He told Police he did not wish Police to take action.
