A 25-year-old Sandys man pleaded guilty to wounding a man with a knife in Supreme Court yesterday.

Danvers Seymour Jr., of Field Lane, Sandys, was charged with wounding Michael Troy Sanford with intent to do grievous bodily harm on June 11, 2003 and possessing an offensive weapon.

Seymour pleaded guilty to wounding Mr. Sanford and guilty to possessing a knife. He pleaded not guilty to intent to do grievous bodily harm.

Seymour?s lawyer, Craig Attridge, asked for a social inquiry report to be completed before sentencing. He requested Seymour be released on bail while the court completed its report.

Crown counsel Oonagh Vaucrosson did not object to both requests. Seymour had previously pleaded not guilty to wounding with intent and possession of a knife in relation to an assault on June 11.

He was released on $2,500 bail and will appear in the court for mention on July 1.
