Outward Bound looking for hosts
Celebrate Bermuda Day by inviting an Outward Bound student from another culture into your home for one day. Bermuda?s Outward Bound programme is making history this year by hosting the second International Challenge for Youth ? a course held to bring together Outward Bound students from all over the world.
Eleven students from various countries across the globe will join three local students in the program that aims at promoting international goodwill and appreciation for different cultures. The students come from Romania, New Zealand, Singapore, Sabah in Malaysia, Australia, Hong Kong, Finland, Bulgaria and Brazil.
The students will participate in a historical railway exploration and canoe journey and a circumnavigation of the Island under sail.
They will also be required to fulfil some community service. The home stay will begin on the evening of May 23, which allows the students to participate in the families celebration of Bermuda Day. However, Outward Bound still needs some more people to invite an international student into their home for the 24-hour period.
Interested parties can contact Outward Bound Bermuda coordinator Mark Norman at outboundibl.bm, or visit the organisation?s website at www.outwardboundbermuda.org.
