Bus drivers are set to end their boycott of the Front Street ferry stop according to Bermuda Industrial Union President Derrick Burgess.

Recently they voted to continue ignoring the stop but Mr. Burgess said once the work was carried out drivers would use it.

Government plan to make the car park next to the ferry terminal one way in and one way out after drivers feared the current set up could see exiting drivers going into the path of buses stopping there.

Mr. Burgess told The Royal Gazette: "Once it is done and the signs are up and all that is in place we'll do it."

He said drivers had been keen not to put the public at risk.

"Some people think the bus drivers are being unfair but that is not the case. We are looking out for safety."

Government put in the stop early last year to integrate the ferry and bus service but drivers boycotted it and went on strike when management tried to force them to use it.
