There was a security scare yesterday at Government House, where British Prime Minister Tony Blair is staying, when a trespasser was handed over to Police.

Governor Sir John Vereker?s wife Lady Judy Vereker confronted a man, who is believed to be Bermudian, when she saw him wandering the grounds of Government House at lunchtime yesterday. Deputy Governor Nick Carter confirmed yesterday the man said he was looking for a model aeroplane which he said had crashed in the grounds. He said Lady Vereker told him he was in Government House grounds and told him he should speak to Police, which he did.

Mr. Carter said he did not know if Mr. Blair and his family were in Government House yesterday when the incident happened.

?It was not a serious incident, but clearly Lady Vereker handled it in an appropriate way,? said Mr. Carter.

?The plane apparently flew in and he walked in and she walked up to him and said ?this is Government House, I think you should go to the Police? and he did so, seemingly.?

Police were unable to provide any information on the incident.
