Police are investigating how a suspect smuggled a machete into his Magistrates? Court case yesterday.

The man produced the weapon as he was being led to the holding cells after being sentenced to jail for assault. Magistrate Carlisle Greaves is understood to be very angry about the breach of security.

Mr. Greaves could not be contacted for comment last night but Police Commissioner Jonathan Smith told : ?We have checked with our security staff and we will be meeting with Magistrate Greaves and the court co-ordinator to see what steps can be taken.?

It is understood the machete the man has concealed was engraved with the phrases ?See you on the other side? and ?RIP?.
