Five Paget men will appear in court today to answer charges relating to Sunday?s confrontation at Wellington Oval.

And Police are hoping to arrest another five suspects from Paget today after obtaining search warrants.

One more arrest was made yesterday after a man turned himself in accompanied by a lawyer.

Acting Superintendent Stuart Crockwell, who is heading the investigation, said Police were beginning to get to the bottom of what had caused the confrontation although he was reluctant to give details.

He said one of the complainants said the fight had dated back to something which happened two years ago. He said: ?They don?t forgive and they don?t forget.?

Acting Supt. Crockwell said the suspect picked up on gun charges on Tuesday will be appearing in court at a later date.

Around 40 people disrupted Sunday?s Friendship Trophy Final between Somerset Eagles and North Village and battled with machetes, knives, sticks and concrete blocks.

The violence put three people in hospital with one man suffering a stab wound just inches from his heart.
