Andrew Jackson, son of the Deputy Police Commissioner George Jackson, was fined $1,000 and disqualified from driving for 12 months after pleading guilty on Friday to driving while impaired.

Crown counsel Juan Wolffe told the court that 22-year-old Jackson was caught drunk driving after he crashed into a wall across from the American Consulate on Middle Road, Devonshire, on January 31.

He was taken to Hamilton Police Station for a breath test, which revealed that he had 134 milligrams of alcohol in 100 millilitres of blood.

Jackson had nothing to say about the matter and Acting Senior Magistrate Carlisle Greaves fined him the standard $1,000 fine and 12 months off the road.
