Magistrate Edward King has officially retired and yesterday was rumoured to have left the Island on holiday.

Meanwhile rumours are rife around the lower courts as to who will be his replacement.

Justin Williams is a strong contender, although court staff say Juan Wolffe might also be vying for the position, as reportedly is Mark Pettingill.

However, Chief Justice Richard Ground said yesterday that a rotation schedule has been worked out to fill the position left empty by Mr. King until later this month when the Governor is expected to announce a permanent replacement.

?I know who it is, but I?m afraid I can?t say,? he said.
