Premier Alex Scott has appointed the first two members of the Progressive Labour Party's Independence committee.
Party Chairman Sen. Neville Tyrrell and Deputy Leader Ewart Brown will head the committee, Sen. Tyrell confirmed yesterday.
The pair are due to meet with Mr. Scott who returned to Bermuda this week.
Sen. Tyrrell said that the committee could be made up of people for and against Independence, as its primary purpose was to promote discussion.
The development follows Mr. Scott's call for an open national dialogue on Independence, and his decision to form two committees - one for the Government - to examine the issue.
