The yacht Marzupilami , which suffered a broken headtstay on its mast, is now making good progress with increased speed, and is now 200 miles south of Bermuda.

The three crew on the 46-foot yacht declined an offer of help from a tanker and are trying to coax their vessel towards the Island.

A Harbour Radio spokesman said: "If they continue to have favourable winds they should be in our waters in four days."
