A 1,700-tonne Belgian tug diverted to Bermuda on Saturday seeking assistance for an injured crewman, Harbour Radio said.
The 197-foot ocean-going tug President Hubert was en route from Freeport, Bahamas to Rotterdam when it diverted to Bermuda to land the crewman, a 39-year old man suffering from a severe finger injury. President Hubert arrived in St. George's Harbour at 6.41 p.m. and transferred the sailor to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance.
