Government's Health & Safety Inspector Harry Powell is investigating concrete firm SAL after a worker had to have toes amputated after they got stuck in a fork lift.
He said the worker was riding on the prongs of the truck which was being lowered when he got stuck. Asked if charges would be laid against the company Mr. Powell said: "An investigation is still on going."
He said the practice of riding on the forks was extremely dangerous. However he said the company had done everything right in reporting the accident.
