A computer program is crunching the electoral rolls and will in the next few days churn out a parliamentary register reflecting the new electoral system.

And the public will be able to view the new register next week, said Parliamentary Registrar Sabrina Phillips, whose office is responsible for electoral arrangements.

Bermuda now has 36 single-seat constituencies as a result of changes made last week by Britain's Privy Council. The new boundaries will take effect upon the next dissolution of the House of Assembly.

Ms Phillips said voters will also have the opportunity to find their new constituencies by logging into the parliamentary registrar's website and typing in their addresses on a search function called the "constituency finder".

Polling stations have been identified but will not be revealed to the public until the election is called because of possible changes at the last minute.

"There are maybe one or two locations that will have two polling stations," she said. "But the locations are large enough to avoid any confusion.

The Opposition United Bermuda Party has been calling for a wholesale re-registration of voters.

Ms Phillips said that she was confident that everything was in order for the elections which must be called by November.
