Good Samaritan helps senior
A good Samaritan made a heartfelt donation after reading an article on seniors in .
The article, in last Saturday?s (February 21) paper, highlighted the effect of the Budget on the Island?s over-65s. Three women agreed to be interviewed for the article but due to the personal financial information they divulged, their identities were withheld.
A concerned senior who read the article was so moved by the plight of a 68-year-old Pembroke woman in the story, that she did some investigating and managed to anonymously hand an envelope with some funds to the woman?s daughter.
On a slip of paper found in the envelope, the good Samaritan had written: ?It is with pleasure that I give this little donation to help with your mother?s expenses. God Bless.?
Overwhelmed by the gesture, the grateful daughter said she had no opportunity to thank the woman.
?She just slipped in and before I could lift my head up, she was gone,? the daughter said. ?I would really love to thank her. It was very kind.?
