Bermuda Police officers Barry Richards and Charlene Thompson have been promoted to sergeant.

Sgt. Thompson, a 35-year-old Bermudian, is a former Warwick Secondary student, who served in eastern Division, CID, Community and Juvenile Services, and the Major Incident Room.

The mother of two daughters and Delaware State University graduate is currently stationed at Training centre.

Sgt. Richards, 34, who joined the forced from Barbados in 1990, has served in the Eastern Division, the Narcotics Department, and Intelligence. He is now in the Juvenile and Domestic Crime Unit investigating serious crimes against children.

He is captain of the West Indian Association cricket team and played with Courtney Walsh in a match against the St. George's Premier team.
