How you qualify and prepare for the operation.

The process takes three to six months of pre-operative preparation.

If patients smoke they must have quit for at least six months before the operation otherwise Dr. Shah will not carry out the operation.

Patients must show commitment to the procedure by losing some of their weight before the operation.

All patients must or will be on a liquid diet before having the operation.

Patients also have to go through psychiatric tests to make sure that they are also not bulimic.
