BSX falls in mixed trading

The Royal Gazette/Bermuda Stock Exchange Index last week fell 43.541 points to end the week at 3,180.12.

Bermuda Commercial Bank saw the highest volume of trading during the week with 23,562 shares changing hands while the share price fell 25 cents to $7.50.

Meanwhile, Butterfield Bank shares gained 45 cents to finish the week at $40.50 on trading of 21,944 shares.

In the local insurance sector, Argus investors bought and sold 700 shares at $25.45 and BF&M shareholders traded 977 shares while pushing down the price $2.15 to $13.25.

Island Press (Holdings) - the parent company of the Bermuda Sun - saw 5,800 shares move during the week while Bermuda Container Line Ltd. shares gained 25 cents on trading of 1,500 shares to $11.75.

Electric light company Belco Holdings Ltd. shares moved up 25 cents to $42.05 while 1,311 shares were bought and sold during the week.
